But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit,?^*? ²¹ and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.

And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.

Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.

I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding.
