Ask

Matthew 6:7-8  And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.  (8)  Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Matthew 7:7-11  Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  (8)  For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.  (9)  Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?  (10)  Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent?  (11)  If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Matthew 18:19-20  Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.  (20)  For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.

Matthew 21:22  And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.

Mark 11:22-25  And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God.  (23)  Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.  (24)  Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.  (25)  And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”

Luke 11:9-13  And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  (10)  For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.  (11)  What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent;  (12)  or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?  (13)  If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!

John 14:11-14  Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.  (12)  “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.  (13)  Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  (14)  If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

John 15:7-9  If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.  (8)  By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.  (9)  As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.

John 15:16-17  You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.  (17)  These things I command you, so that you will love one another.

John 16:23-27  In that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you.  (24)  Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.  (25)  “I have said these things to you in figures of speech. The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures of speech but will tell you plainly about the Father.  (26)  In that day you will ask in my name, and I do not say to you that I will ask the Father on your behalf;  (27)  for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.
